Ardbrae House Bed &
Breakfast, Environmental Policy.

|
|
Our environmental policy is our commitment to a
way of life. |
|
|
At Ardbrae House we are
fully committed to providing a good
quality service whilst
minimising the impact of our
activities, on
our surrounding environment.
We are working towards an award
with the
Green Tourism Business Scheme.
This scheme provides
accreditation and encouragement
for sustainable tourism, which
will help save the environment
for future generations to enjoy.
We welcome support,
participation and suggestions
from our guests, as to how we can
improve our environmental
policy, protect the environment
and make your stay more
enjoyable.
We encourage sustainable tourism
and provide information for
walkers and cyclists and
actively promote green tourism
by encouraging our guests to
travel car-free using the
excellent bus network available.
We have a No smoking policy in
our property.

We aim to:
- Educate our children
with our lifestyle as they
are the planet's future.
- Educate our guests
through demonstrating our
greener way of living.
- Be responsible for
everything we do, every
action we make, to think on
a sustainable level, to
think how it will affect
ourselves, our environment
and our precious earth.
We are committed to:
- Reducing the
number of chemicals we
lavish onto our body and
around our home.
- Serving our
community wherever possible
by supporting local organic
producers, restaurants,
pubs, clubs, promoting
tourist attractions, shops,
transport, employing locally
and hiring local services.
- Reducing our
carbon footprint (7.43
tonnes of CO2 in 2008) by
reducing the amount of
electricity we consume,
preserving the energy we
have and offsetting by
planting more trees.
- Ethical purchasing,
including Fair-trade, Soil
Association (organic
certificate), Rainforest
Alliance.
